Special Angle Compression Probes (Longitudinal Wave)

GB Inspection Systems internally designs and manufactures a range of special single and twin crystal angle compression probes, giving the operator higher penetration in difficult materials such as large grain austenitic stainless steel.

SAC A general purpose single crystal angle compression probe. A crystal size of 10 mm is fitted into stainless steel housing with Subvis connector as standard. This probe type provides good penetration in difficult materials. An optional Lemo 00 connector is also available.

MTAC This twin crystal angle compression probe design reduces the material and internal probe noise inherent with the single crystal type. Fitted with a crystal size 8 x 5 mm (x2) in stainless steel housing with Lemo 00 connectors as standard.

Underwater Probes

GB Inspection Systems produces a range of contact probes for underwater applications. All probes come supplied with a reinforced waterproof integral cable of diamter 4.5 mm and 2 metres in length, with free cable ends for the customer’s own fit of underwater connector(s).

Creep Wave Probes

Creep wave probes generate a sound wave that travels along the material just beneath the surface (1-3 mm), parallel to the surface. The range includes three different sizes of probe, and is available in standard angles of 45°, 60° and 70°. Other angles are available upon request.
