Together with the design of new and modified products, our Research and Development (R&D) department forms an essential part of making our customers’ businesses more profitable and productive.
This means investing time and money into market research to establish requirements and then into developing products and services that best meet our customers’ demands.
By acting as a “solution provider”, our design engineers work closely with our customers on R&D activities and provide suggestions in a timely manner.
Our recent innovations include:
- Our Hurco VM20i CNC helps us to manufacture in house our integral components and transducer housings amongst other parts at our premises for more faster, consistent and flexible production and build.
- Our new YUMI® dual-arm collaborative robot helps us with exact positioning components in our transducer manufacture. YUMI® also helps us eliminate human error as it has very high accuracy shown by a 0.05mm positioning tolerance.
- The FAROARM® is an integral part of our production and quality department, providing greater precision for the majority of measurement tasks on products such as Calibration Blocks and integral components.
- Our new Pryor Marking laser machine helps us identify all of our transducers accurately and precisely. We have been lasering our transducers instead of using labels for several years.
- Recent introduction of our Startasys Makerbot Method X 3D Printer allows for first of type and prototypes.
- Flatbed CNC Router gives GBIS the capabilities of producing bespoke protective foams for any carry case.
We are the holder of 2 global patents for our TOFD (Time of Flight Diffraction) products, and hold the trademark for our TULA™ and LimboTOFD™ range.
